Over the last 20+ years I’ve been working as a senior-level marketing executive providing strategic marketing services, primarily in software, high tech and Internet sectors, to companies ranging in size from start-up and early stage ventures to the Fortune 500. I provide a combination of critical thinking, vision and creativity to formulate marketing strategies and recommend tactics which enable companies to differentiate and develop the completive edge needed to ensure success.

I’m extremely passionate about marketing excellence and love providing strategic planning and conceptualizing exceptional marketing communications.  Social media marketing in particular is exhilarating to me – its the future of marketing now. I’ve been espousing the benefits of social media marketing since having read ‘net.gain’ by John Hagel III in March 1997 and have been a ’student’ of this space ever since. In graduate school, I wrote my masters dissertation on the impact of the Internet on traditional mass media and made numerous recommendations on best practices, strategies and tactics for the most effective social media marketing.

In 1986, I served as the VP of Sales & Marketing / co-CEO for the start-up company that developed the leading PC data communications software program, ProComm, which was back in the days of the 1200 baud external modem and Bulletin Board Systems. (Who remembers the corporate BBS, Prodigy, CompuServe and GEnie?).  This was five years before AOL for DOS was even launched.   I had been heavily involved in online marketing for eight years prior to Netscape coming on to the scene during the spring of 1994.   And the entire high tech sector is every bit as exciting to me today as it was before the inception of the web!

People have been telling me over the last 25 years that I am an anomaly since creative people generally do not have my level of business acumen; or that business people with track records of success like mine are not very creative. The combination of innate creativity, learned business skills, a wealth of experience, and a zealous passion for marketing are the attributes which really what set me apart. Applying creative thinking to complex marketing issues enables fresh idea generation which has allowed me to excel in branding, key messaging & positioning, product launch, product marketing, and Internet marketing.

I also have passion for spearheading public & industry analyst relations and can’t even count how many press junkets I’ve traveled on over the years. Strategic planning, corporate marketing, global business operations, building strategic alliances & joint ventures, and team leadership are all areas where I have a tremendous amount of experience and expertise.

When it comes to marketing excellence, my passion may be more of an obsession – absolutely love it!
